A downtown Vancouver boutique hotel gets an
update that pays homage to its classic origins.

CHALLENGE
The Georgian Court Hotel can trace its origins to royal beginnings; Princess Margaret of the Netherlands attended the hotel's groundbreaking ceremony. First opened in 1983, the boutique hotel quickly became a coveted destination for locals and visitors alike.
After 30+ years with only minor refurbishments along the way, it was time to breathe new life into this historic property.

SOLUTION
'Modern classic' was the conceptual inspiration behind this guestroom makeover. Clean, contemporary lines and detailing bring the space up to date. The main room is enveloped in dark, rich tones while in contrast, the bathroom sparkles in creamy off-whites and soft golds. Exquisite medallion print wall coverings, faceted crystal drawer pulls, veined marble and gold accents pay homage to the hotel's classic roots.
A custom wood surround wraps the TV/desk console, and is repeated at the bed. The headboard acts as the room's dramatic anchor with the help of architectural lighting, bronze mirror, and plush upholstery. Upgrades to the bathroom include sliding glass doors, a rain shower head, and back-lit mirrors, for a spacious and spa-like experience.
